Consider this...

We teach knowledge (the head) and skills (the hands) - but what about the heart? Character must be taught, not left to chance. Without it, education misses its purpose: helping children become good humans, not just capable ones.

Schools excel at academic delivery, but often overlook Character. As Tom Fletcher warns: “Education persistently focuses on academic knowledge instead of character and skills…and this leaves us in peril.” Without heart, learning loses meaning and impact.

...empathy, bravery and kindness are taught alongside literacy. And where character education is woven through every lesson. When we teach the heart, we build not just capable children, but compassionate, resilient people ready for an uncertain future.

To help you develop Character, here are some resources we have created:

Start the day with Character. Use our week-by-week resources to explicitly teach and practice new Characters and encourage children to grow in them across the term or year.

The A to Z of Character. Activity cards, question prompts, posters all designed to be used in a classroom environment to develop Character. These can be used as standalone resources in PSHE or tutor time or woven into specific subject lessons.There are four sets, for different age groups.
